Westwood Lake Loop

Nanaimo, BC

Directions:

Drive to Westwood Lake and park in the lot near the public beach on Westwood road.

This is a lovely, gentle, 6km walk around an all-in-the-city lake. Westwood  is more than your typical city park and when you're on the back side, it's just like being in the country.

Conditions:

The path is generally packed earth with occasional roots and rocks showing through.  Hiking shoes are a good idea and otherwise dress for the weather.

Elevation Profile 

There is a medium-sized hill just after the public beach which is not very high but its steepness lets you know that it's a hill.  Otherwise, the walk is quite flat.
